Abstract

Dual vocational training is very widespread in Germany, where practical in-company training is supplemented by theoretical vocational school lessons. As the training allowances paid by companies are often not sufficient to cover the costs of living, trainees may receive a vocational training allowance. This article explains the eligibility requirements for this social benefit.
