Código Ético

The journal “Social Security Law (Laborum)” adheres to the ELSEVIER recommendations and the COPE ethical standards: Committee on Publication Ethics: http://publicationethics.org/resources/code-conduct

The commitments made by the entire Editorial Team to ensure responsible action by both authors, reviewers, and editors are specifically detailed below.

Commitments for the authors

  • Originality in the works: The authors of manuscripts sent to the Journal of “Social Security Law (Laborum)” must be original. Manuscripts must not contain copies or reproductions of works by other authors or other fragments of works already published by the same authors. In addition, the veracity of the data will be confirmed by signing a "declaration of originality" document that must be sent to the publisher.
  • Multiple or repetitive publications: The author must not publish the same article or with similar results in more than one scientific journal. The simultaneous proposal of the same contribution to multiple scientific journals is considered ethically incorrect and reprehensible.
  • List of sources: At the end of each work, the author must include a complete bibliographic list, in which all the sources and articles handled are collected.
  • Authorship: Regarding the authorship of the manuscript, the authors guarantee the inclusion of those people who have made a significant scientific and intellectual contribution in the conceptualization and planning of the work as well as in the interpretation of the results and in the writing of the same. At the same time, the authors have been ranked according to their category and/or level of responsibility and involvement.
  • Conflict of interest and disclosure: All authors are required to explicitly declare that there are no conflicts of interest that may have influenced the results obtained or the proposed interpretations. Authors must also indicate any funding from agencies and/or projects from which the research article arises.
  • Errors or errata in published articles: When an author identifies an important error or inaccuracy in his article, he must notify the editors of the journal and provide them with all the necessary information to list the pertinent corrections at the bottom of the same article.
  • Responsibility: All authors accept responsibility for what has been written. The authors also undertake that a review of the most current and relevant scientific literature on the subject analyzed has been carried out, bearing in mind the different currents of knowledge in a plural form.

Commitments for reviewers

  • Contribution to the editorial decision: Peer and blind review allows the Laborum editorial to make decisions about the proposed articles and, in the same way, allows the author to improve the contribution sent for publication. The reviewers assume the commitment to carry out a critical, honest and constructive review of both the scientific quality and the literary quality of the writing.
  • Review times: The coordination will set the review times. The reviewer who cannot finish the evaluation in the scheduled time must immediately notify the coordinator. The reviewers undertake to evaluate the works in the shortest time possible to respect the delivery deadlines.
  • Confidentiality: Each assigned manuscript must be considered confidential. Therefore, these texts should not be discussed with other people without the express consent of the director, assistant director and coordinator.
  • Objectivity: The peer review will be carried out objectively. No personal judgment of the authors of contributions is considered appropriate. Reviewers are required to give sufficient reasons for their ratings. The reviewers will deliver a complete critical report with adequate references according to the review protocol of the Journal of "Social Security Law (Laborum)" and the public regulations for reviewers; especially if it is proposed that the work be rejected. They are required to advise editors if substantial parts of the work have already been published or are under review for another publication.
  • Text display: The reviewers undertake to accurately indicate the bibliographic references of fundamental works possibly forgotten by the author. The reviewer should also inform the editors of any similarities or overlaps of the manuscript with other published works.
  • Conflict of Interest and Disclosure: Confidential information or information obtained during the peer review process should be considered confidential and may not be used for personal purposes. Reviewers only review a manuscript when there is no conflict of interest.

Publisher Commitments

  • Publication decision: the editors will guarantee the selection of the most qualified reviewers and scientific specialists to issue a critical and expert appreciation of the work, with the least possible bias. The “Social Security Law (Laborum)” journal chooses to select 2 reviewers for each work in order to guarantee greater objectivity in the review process.
  • Honesty: The editors evaluate the articles submitted for publication only on the basis of the merit and scientific quality of the content.
  • Confidentiality: the entire editorial team undertakes not to disclose the information related to the articles submitted for publication to people other than authors, reviewers and editors. The editors and the Editorial Committee commit to the confidentiality of the manuscripts, their authors and reviewers, so that anonymity preserves the intellectual integrity of the entire process.
  • Conflict of Interest and Disclosure: The editors undertake not to use the content of articles submitted for publication in their research without the written consent of the author.
  • Respect of the times: the editors are fully responsible for complying with the time limits for reviews and the publication of accepted works, to ensure a rapid dissemination of their results. The works will not remain accepted, unpublished and on infinite waiting lists, beyond the fair time for their publication in the following issues of the journal.
