Focus and scope

Orientation and methodological approach

Its title reflects the vindication of the broad and identifiable space of what Social Security is, in the face of emerging tendencies to frame it within a general system of public social protection.

It is a theoretical-practical journal that claims full knowledge of "Living Law" as verified in legal experience and judicial praxis. For this reason, while paying attention to current regulations and legislative and legal protection techniques, it is contextualized within the political, socio-economic and ethical framework in which they are inserted.

Contents include:

Editorial
Doctrinal Studies
Judicial Doctrine Studies
Comparative Law and Foreign Law in Social Security and related matters
Legislative Chronicle, Judicial Doctrine and Bibliographic News
Chronicle of Administrative Doctrine on Social Security
Economics and Sociology of Social Security and the Social State
Social Security Classics

Opening and access to its contents:

Starting with the first quarter of 2025 issue, the Journal  will be published in open access, following Diamond Open Access (Diamond OA) standards.
Under this model, publications will be immediately available online for free, with no subscription fees for readers or article processing charges (APCs) for authors.
This measure eliminates the previous one-year embargo period and Laborum Editorial's commitment to an open science policy.
The works in this journal will be published under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license.

Recipients

With this orientation and methodological approach that is sought, the recipients of this Magazine are all people, institutions and "public and private" organizations in the field of Social Security without exception, such as Lawyers, Social Graduates, University Professors and in general, all personnel in the scientific academic field, personnel or human resources managers, trade union or business advisors, social workers, directors and public employees, and their respective associations or professional organizations, among others.

Peer review process

The journal follows a double-blind peer review policy, through which published articles are reviewed by two external evaluators (and by a third party if there is a discrepancy) in a completely confidential and anonymous manner. Said peer review policy is developed in greater detail in the submissions section and, specifically, within the point dedicated to the editorial process.

Extraordinary issues are also excluded from the double-blind peer review process.

This journal does not charge authors any fee for the publication of their work or for any other reason.
