Regulation and Standardisation of Working Conditions for Informal Workers: Ensuring their Social Protection and Rights

The purpose of the article is to identify the peculiarities of regulation and standardisation of working conditions of informal workers, to study the constituent elements of informal labor and to analyse proposals for improving the legal regulation of informal labor, including ensuring social rights and protection of workers on the basis of policy documents and the author’s own judgments in the aspect of the Ukrainian labor market and legislative regulation. The main research methods used in the study are the methods of systematic analysis and synthesis, comparative legal method, method of analysis of legislative documents and interpretation of law, dialectical method, etc. Based on the study, a number of proposals were made to improve the legal regulation and standardisation of informal labor conditions, including the development of specific information and awareness-raising measures on informal labor, improvement of the procedure for monitoring informal labor, increasing inspections of enterprises that may potentially evade formal employment of their employees, adaptation of labor legislation to the realities of the active functioning of the informal labor market with conditions for granting informal employment.
