Abstract

The approval in Spain of the LETA in 2007 represented one of the first legal regulations of economically dependent self-employment at European level. The balance of its development is however clearly unsatisfactory, as evidenced by the reduced number of workers recognized as "TRADE". In addition, there is the existence of a high percentage of cases in which dependent self-employment actually conceals fraudulent or irregular situations of wage labor. Economically dependent self-employed are generally more vulnerable compared to other groups, particularly in terms of incomes and industrial relations. This raises the need to adopt a set of measures, aimed at promoting the improvement of working conditions and the protection of this group.
