Abstract

The separation between passive and active employment policies is not absolute, but a clear tendency to encourage the transition between unemployment and subsidized labor activity or self-employment is observed, allowing a total or partial compatibility between both situations, so that economically it encouraged the return by the unemployed to the work market, through the coordination of both axes of employment policy. In the pages that follow there will be analysed the current programs to promote employment for unemployed benefit recipients. First, the focus it will put on the conversion of those in employees, then we will study those programs that use the provision as an incentive to the self-employment.
