Abstract

This work examines the possibility that minors than 18 years old develop a self-employment under the terms required by art.1.1 LETA. Subsequently, the contradictions between LETA and General Social Security Act are analyzed in relation to the minimum age for developing a self-employment and the minimum age requiered to be included of self-employed in Social Security System and its framework in the RETA.It is concluded, that the current regulation in social protection prevents the increase in number of contributors and provides insufficient social protection to this group, particularly against the risks of work. Finally, the paper analyzes the poor protection that LETA offers to this group regarding safety and health at work.
