Abstract

When triple therapy opened greater life expectancy to Spanish citizens, questions of (in)competence arising from not wanting to face the high cost of the new medicines, judicial pronouncements impossible to execute on their own terms and a clear anachronism in both the regulation and in the administrative organisation of penitentiary centres have caused the so-called "hepatitis C crisis", which includes the indictable failure in the right to health of inmates in penitentiary institutions.
