Abstract

The Labor and Social Security Rights powers of the Spanish Bureau of Labor and Social Welfare (ITSS) are testament to its general nature and allow for the definition and successful execution of actions to combat the precariousness of household employees from a global perspective. Social demand for the improvement of the working conditions of this feminized group requires decisive action from public powers. The campaign developed by the ITSS has highlighted problems of interpretation of the rules and the technical difficulties of their application. The combination of work without prior disclosure and technical assistance with subsequent controls allows for the regularization of labor relations and has contributed to the improvement of the tools available to employers and employees to carry out social security procedures and to comply with legal requirements.
