Abstract

Efrén Borrajo Dacruz was a great jurist who deserves the proper classification of “classical Social Law”. Some of his contributions have been decisive for the development of the discipline of Social Law of Labor and Social Security. It cannot be ignored that Efrén Borrajo had a special affinity with the Social Security Law, and is recognized as one of its greatest cultivators. This statement is easily sustained and demonstrated by attending to his decisive contribution to the subject, from a historical-legal approach to the general (and constitutional) theory analysis of Social Security, and culminating in the technical-legal and policy study of almost all the most relevant aspects of the legal regime of the Social Security institutional system and its benefits system (protective action) in terms of completeness in treatment. And taking into account an extremely abundant production in the subject, characterized by precision, analytical rigor, and constant attention to the “Living Law” in the dynamic of the law, particularly in its judicial implementation.
