Recent modifications made to the regulation of the Organic Law on Foreigners and other modifications related to immigration

Abstract

Royal Decree 629/2022, of 26 July, modifies the regulations of the organic law on foreigners, included in Royal Decree 557/2011, of 20 April, taking measures to facilitate the granting of work permits to cover the needs and imbalances of the labour market, to promote the work and professional activity of students, facilitate the self-employment of foreigners and expedite the processing of immigration files. This regulatory modification has been followed, in 2022, by two legal modifications that affect the matter of immigration, in relation to the protection of foreign women victims of sexual violence and international mobility.
