Abstract

Traditionally, one of the most problematic issues relating to liability for damages arising from an accident at work consisted in determining the competent jurisdictional order. The jurisprudence of the Fourth Chamber of the Supreme Court always maintained its own jurisdiction. Another important issue was the quantification of damages. The rulings that are discussed were key in both issues; they analyse the influence of Magistrate Mr Desdentado's thoughts in shaping the doctrine of the Supreme Court on both issues.
