Comments on rulings tribute Aurelio Desdentado Bonete

Abstract

In this paper, two relevant rulings that were resolved by the Supreme Court Magistrate, Mr Aurelio Desdentado Bonete, are analysed. On the one hand, the competence of the social order to hear compensation for damages caused directly in the execution of the employment relationship is debated (Supreme Court judgement of 17 September 2004). On the other hand, the Supreme Court judgement of 4 November 1999 studies the competence of the National Employment Institute (hereinafter INEM) to acknowledge unemployment benefit to a worker included in an ERE [Labour Force Adjustment Plan].
