Abstract

The amicus curiae is a procedure person in fashion in Spain, including the social jurisdiction, namely after the amendment of our Civil Procedure Act, to the effect of incorporating such a figure. In this work, its presence in what the authors consider as great cases of the Supreme Court of the United States on social security is analyzed. The unquestionable prestige of the Law of the United States about the topic of the amicus curiae derives from the fact that the existence of this figure in judicial proceedings is registered by the Supreme Court of the United States as early as in 1823.
