Abstract

The prolonged economic crisis and weak situation of global recovery has affected Spanish youth employment, resulting in a critical situation for which there exists great difficulty in finding and implementing solutions. In recent years, most foresight experts have predicted an uncertain future for employment as we have come to understand it, particularly with regard to youth employment, when the added challenges of the accelerated development of automated processes, the destruction of jobs and the decline in social contributions are considered. The unknown becomes an even greater concern when we consider the issue of social security for young people within a context of unemployment, precarity, intermittent working careers and a search for solutions in the field of private savings (supplementary social security). It is time to implement efficient and effective solutions to these problems, by taking comprehensive action together to encourage synergy between policies focused on promoting goals of success and well-being in the workplace.
