Abstract

Gender-based violence extends to different areas of women's lives, affecting their work activity and also influencing the Social Security benefits system, particularly a pension as feminised as the widow's pension. Changes in social customs regarding family and couple relationships have caused certain distortions in the protection of survivors, especially among women who are victims of gender-based violence. It is essential to check if we can improve the protections for them and the attention to their possible situations of need.
