Labor migration is becoming a growing trend in the modern labor market. The development of transport infrastructure, growth of non-standard forms of employment, globalization and uneven development of different territories lead to an increase in the mobility of the working population. Labor migration has its positive aspects, such as the redistribution of labor and the increase in the efficiency of human capital. However, along with other aspects of a flexible labor market, labor migration can also pose a threat to the social protection of workers. The study of social security issues helps to assess the extent to which these workers have access to the necessary social services and benefits, which contributes to their well-being and encourages further contribution to the economy. The purpose of the article is to analyze the social security provided for by the EU and Member States’ legislation on migrant workers in the context of workers from Ukraine. This allows us to identify the basic rights, obligations and principles governing the social protection of this category of workers. The analysis of social security helps to determine how effective and comprehensive its application is for migrant workers. In addition, the purpose of the article is to assess the level of social protection provided to migrant workers under the laws of the EU and its Member States. The main method of research is the method of system analysis, which allows to consider social security as a complex system that includes various components, interrelations and influences. Within this method, the authors analyzed the legislative framework, decisions, institutional structure and processes, financial aspects, access to services and other factors that affect the social protection of migrant workers.
