The impact of the new German Statute ruling the general minimum wage on the German Code of Social Security. A study from the point of view of Spanish Law

The enactment in 2014 of the German statute ruling the general minimum wage, which ends the lack of existence in Germany of the institution of the interprofessional minimum wage, has impacted not only on the German labor legal order as a whole, but also on the German social security legal order. In this paper, such impact on the German Code of Social Security is analysed, focussing it on its Fourth Book (ruling in a transverse way the social insurance), on its Third Book (ruling separately the contributory protection for unemployment), and on its Eleventh Book (ruling separately the protection of dependency). This study is contextualised with the corresponding references to Spanish Law dealing with such subjects.Downloads
