Determinant factors of the changes in the labour market institutions in Europe

This paper focuses on the causes of the transformations in the labour market institutions (LMIs) within the EU-15 from 2007 to 2014. Particularly, the determinants of these changes are analyzed by using a cross section model. It seeks to contrast the variables that, during the Great Recession, have affected to the LMIs (measured through an elaborated index built to that objective). The hypothesis argue that the changes are, on the one hand, linked to the economic cycle and the economic policies implemented in Europe in the context of the crisis and, on the other hand, to the productive structure of economic sectors.Downloads
