Special agreements in the Social Security system: their role in the new labour relations model
Abstract
The special agreement with the Social Security is an agreement that workers can sign with the TGSS to generate, maintain, or extend the right to certain benefits and for which they must pay the corresponding contributions.
There is a general agreement, whose regime is subsidiary to the rest of the specific modalities that are established in the system for different groups and situations.
The statistics consulted show that, in general, it is an under-utilised institution. Therefore, a reform proposal has been made to adapt it to the new system of labour relations brought about by digitalisation. Suggestions for improvement are also made to make it useful for care work.
