Healthcare management at a crossroads

Abstract

This paper analyses and assesses direct and indirect management of healthcare at the National Health System. Innovations and introduction of new management techniques will be analysed, as well as controversial outsourcing initiatives undertaken in some Autonomous Communities. Strengths and weaknesses of the new model of clinical management will also be proposed as a solution for the crossroads of healthcare management in our country.
